Activities

The SPIN Project implements a wide range of innovative and interactive activities designed to promote sustainability, social inclusion, and youth empowerment through sport and non-formal education. By combining Education Through Sport (ETS) methodologies with sustainability-focused learning, the project creates engaging opportunities for young people, youth workers, educators, and organizations across Europe.

Each activity is carefully designed to strengthen essential life skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication, creativity, and critical thinking, while also increasing awareness of environmental responsibility and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Development of the SPIN Theoretical Framework and Training Format

The first phase of the project focuses on the development of the SPIN educational methodology and training structure. Partners collaborate to conduct research, collect best practices, and create a comprehensive framework that combines sustainability education with Education Through Sport methodologies. This activity establishes the foundation for all future educational resources and project activities.

The project develops an innovative Educational Toolkit designed for youth workers, educators, sports organizations, and community groups. The toolkit includes lesson plans, practical activities, non-formal learning methods, and guidelines that use sport as a tool for teaching sustainability, inclusion, teamwork, and active citizenship.

One of the project’s most innovative activities is the creation of a Digital Serious Board Game that introduces young people to sustainability concepts and social inclusion through interactive learning and role-playing scenarios. The game encourages participants to solve challenges, make decisions, and collaborate while learning about important social and environmental issues in an engaging and enjoyable way.

SPIN develops an interactive E-Learning Platform that provides easy access to the project’s educational materials, digital tools, and learning resources. The platform supports youth workers, educators, and young people by offering accessible and flexible opportunities for learning and participation.

The project organizes workshops and educational activities that combine physical activity with sustainability education. Through collaborative games, sports-based challenges, and group discussions, participants explore topics such as climate action, equality, inclusion, teamwork, and responsible citizenship.

SPIN hosts innovative hackathons where young people work together to develop creative solutions to environmental and social challenges. These activities encourage critical thinking, collaboration, leadership, and innovation while promoting active participation and community engagement.

Each partner organization implements local pilot activities to test and evaluate the project’s educational resources and methodologies. These testing phases provide valuable feedback that helps improve the toolkit, digital tools, and learning activities to ensure they meet the needs of young people and youth workers from diverse backgrounds.

The project places strong emphasis on sharing its results and creating long-term impact across Europe. Through newsletters, social media campaigns, multiplier events, workshops, and community outreach activities, SPIN promotes its educational resources and encourages organizations, educators, and stakeholders to adopt its innovative methodologies.
